Taliesin - Mustique
Private mural commission completed March 2009


During the month of February this year Dan was commissioned to work on a series of murals in a newly built house on the Caribean island of Mustique. The six murals were completed in four guest rooms, a master suite and a gym wall. The theme of the murals was based on Taliesin, the 6th century Welsh poet. A limited edition of drypoint prints of Harry Patch & Henry Allingham, signed and numbered limited edition of 100 each. Proceeds from the sales of the prints will be donated to the Royal British Legion to support soldiers injured in combat.

BP Portrait Award 2009
National Portrait Gallery, Wolfston Gallery, (free entry)

A portrait of the 'Last Tommy', Harry Patch will feature in the annual BP Portrait Award at the National Portrait Gallery. The BP Portrait Award is the most prestigious portrait competition in the world, highlighting the very best in contemporary portrait painting. The portrait of Harry was made during a visit to the veteran earlier this year.

Study for Henry Allingham
Oriel Washington Gallery

6th June - 19th June 2009

Following the portrait of Harry Patch, Dan has been given permission to paint the portrait of Henry Allingham. Proceeds from the sale of the painting will be donated to the British Legion.

A series of etchings are soon to be released through the British Legion depicting the two last veterans of the Great War.



Transfiguration - Part 3
National Gallery & Museum of Wales

2nd June - 19th July 2009

The third in a series of exhibitions focusing on the 'spiritual' aspect of landscape. This particular exhibition will look as specific works exhibited elsewhere in the museum as a starting point and form a dialogue with a contemporary perspective. Around 8 works will be exhibited alongside a community project that has been completed through a series of workshops held at the museum.

Our Landscape, Our Art, Our Time
Oriel Washington Gallery, Penarth

To coincide with the exhibition at the National Museum of Wales, Cardiff, Dan Llywelyn Hall and Raphael Pepper will be exhibitng at the Washingon Gallery with an exhibition of paintings, prints and drawings that form the preparatory works to the Transfiguration exhibition. There will be a selection of recent work on show and all works are for sale.
