Over the past two years, Dan has been visiting writers living in Britain spanning all genres of the written word, ranging from children's authors, poets, art critics and novelists. The choices reflect the literary landscape of Britain. Each of the writers were then invited to write a piece that accompanies the portrait for the exhibition. The series will launch at this year's Hay Festival with an accompanying exhibition catalogue. The collection will provide an insight into the role of portraiture and explore the notion of self-identity. A programme of events will run to coincide with the exhibition.
